Building Safety Culture and Digital Transformation for Air Liquide
Client:
Air Liquide
Location:
Switzerland
Industry:
Construction & Chemicals
Air Liquide is a global leader in industrial gases and technologies, with operations spanning more than 70 countries and a range of industries - from manufacturing to healthcare. In Switzerland, the client sought to increase staff awareness and understanding of its two brand-new safety apps.
Clipatize created two short explainer videos that made the digital tools feel intuitive and relevant to everyday work, thanks to engaging, fluid storytelling.

The Challenge
Air Liquide sought to reinforce its safety culture and advance digital transformation by launching two internal mobile applications: one for reporting on-site operational safety observations, and another for managing visitor check-ins and safety certifications.
Both tools were designed to replace legacy paper-based processes with a faster and more reliable digital workflow. But introducing mobile apps across less digitally inclined processes would mark a significant shift. Air Liquide had to demonstrate how the apps worked while encouraging teams to start using them, embracing industrial digitalisation.
Our Approach
We engaged the client team in collaborative kick-off briefing sessions to fully understand the app functionalities, rollout timeline, and internal communication goals. From there, we developed two narrative-driven video concepts, each designed to make the experience feel personal, intuitive, and relevant. Instead of relying on dry app instructions, we used storytelling to guide viewers through everyday scenarios, making the apps feel like a natural part of the safety culture.
The tone was deliberately clear and engaging, with a strong sense of inclusivity built into the structure. From company staff to site visitors, the videos reinforced the message that safety is everyone’s responsibility—and everyone has a role to play.
The Safety Walk App
The first video introduced the Safety Walk app, which allows workers to report safety violations and highlight wins as they walk through the facility. To make the story more relatable, we created a character named Sam—a line worker who leads by example.

Visitor Registration App
The second video focused on the Visitor Registration app, which replaced manual site check-ins with a digital process. It was designed for a broader audience, such as contractors, suppliers, and external visitors—not just Air Liquide staff. The app walkthrough video introduced viewers to the app, explaining the online check-in and annual safety certification processes in a clear and familiar way.
The Result
We developed full scripts and storyboards based on real-world use cases and safety procedures. Both videos featured the same central animated character to create consistency and ensure the content felt familiar across different contexts. Visual details mirrored the actual work environment, including relevant risk icons, site layouts, and signage used within Air Liquide facilities.
Our team handled UX storytelling animation, voiceover production, and post-production, ensuring that all assets followed Air Liquide brand guidelines. Each video was delivered in English, with localised versions adapted to French and German to support country-wide rollout.
